Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Level III/IV NICU travel assignment in Ohio. Requires 2 years NICU experience and an OH or compact RN license. BLS/NRP required; PALS preferred.

The role features 4x12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:00) for an 8-week contract, with weekend responsibilities and cross-unit floats to PICU, ED, and other campuses. Epic EMR experience is required and housing/travel benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Active OH license or compact state license required.
• BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience and 2+ years total NICU experience.
• Experience with neonatal medications and dosing.

Responsibilities

• Cares for neonates in Level III/IV NICU setting, including extremely preterm and late preterm infants.
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.
• 8-week contract length.
• Floating to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, MS, and occasional ED as needed.
• Float to BPD NICU and other campuses as assigned (Riverside, St. Ann's, Grant Medical, Dublin Methodist, Doctors Hospital).
• Provide comprehensive NICU care including respiratory, cardiovascular, GI, neuro, and infection management.
• Support high-risk deliveries.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Level III/IV NICU position requiring 2 years of NICU experience and OH or compact RN licensure.

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand
• BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience and 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience required
• Proficiency with IV therapy, arterial line management, UAC/UVC, and central line care
• Experience with ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, and oscillators
• Experience with neonatal emergency medications, anti-seizure medications, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Experience attending high-risk deliveries
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a supervisor or manager

Responsibilities

• Level III/IV NICU setting caring for neonates ranging from under 24 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• 8-week contract length
• Scheduled to work every other weekend, subject to change based on unit needs
• Required to float to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, MS, and occasionally ED as needed
• Required to float to BPD NICU, caring for patients with frequent trach care needs and heavy parent involvement
• Required to float to additional campuses including Riverside, St. Ann's, Grant Medical, Dublin Methodist, and Doctors Hospital
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provide comprehensive NICU care including respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, neurologic, and infectious disease management for neonatal patients
• Support high-risk deliveries and provide specialized care for conditions such as NEC, gastroschisis, and neonatal sepsis
• Facility requests a makeup shift within the same pay period for any call-out or absence
• Two-part interview process including a float pool leader screening and a possible unit manager interview
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent position at the facility within the past 2 years
• No local candidates permitted within a 60-mile radius
• No RTO permitted for this assignment
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
