Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a NICU assignment in Washington. Candidates must have 3+ years NICU experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities include working in NICU III/IV, caring for neonates from 24–28 weeks, 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio, night shifts 3x12 hours (18:45–07:15), and floating to Birth Center units as needed. EPIC charting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years NICU experience required.
• WA or compact RN license required.
• BLS and NRP certifications required.
• EPIC charting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in NICU III/IV level unit.
• Care for neonates as young as 24-28 weeks gestation.
• Patient ratio of 1:3.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 18:45 to 07:15.
• Floating to Childbirth Center units required based on patient care needs.
• Performs dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Manages feedings including bottle, breast, and gavage methods.
• Places and manages oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes.
• Implements isolation precautions and PPE for infectious disease control.
• Manages IV therapy, arterial lines, central/implanted lines, UAC, and UVC.
• Administers IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids.
• Cares for patients with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome.
• Manages ventilators including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP modes.
• Provides comprehensive neonatal intensive care for critically ill and premature infants.
• Facility-required orientation modules must be completed and signed off by managers.

• Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before being considered for a travel assignment
