Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a NICU assignment in Texas. TX or compact RN license and at least 1 year NICU experience; BLS and NRP; Epic charting system experience requested.

Night shifts are 3x12 hours (19:00–07:30) in a Level III/IV NICU with neonates <24–28 weeks and complex conditions. Ratios 1:1 to 1:4; travel benefits include housing allowance, insurance, and per diem.

Qualifications

Active TX or compact RN license required
BLS and NRP certifications required
Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required
Epic charting system experience required
Ventilator management and neonatal critical care skills
Experience with UAC/UVC, arterial line and central line management
Experience with IV therapy, vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
Experience with feeding management and NG/NJ tube placement
Experience with isolation precautions/PPE
Experience with neonatal abstinence syndrome care
State-issued ID, SSN, and DOB required

Responsibilities

Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
NICU III/IV level work setting
Care for neonates <24-28 weeks and those with complex conditions
Patient ratios 1:1 to 1:4
On-call is voluntary
6 weekend shifts within a 6 week schedule
3 holiday shifts required
Epic EMR experience required
Direct bedside care for critically ill and premature neonates
Local candidates within 90 miles may have lower bill rate
RTO limited to few days; approvals required

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a NICU position requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least 1 year of recent NICU experience.

Requirements

Active TX or compact RN license required
BLS and NRP certifications required
Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required
Epic charting system experience required
Skilled in ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
Experience with UAC/UVC, arterial line, and central line management
Experience with IV therapy, vasopressors, surfactants, and steroid administration
Experience with feeding management (bottle, breast, gavage) and NG/NJ tube placement
Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
Experience with neonatal abstinence syndrome care
State-issued ID, SSN, and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
NICU III/IV level work setting
Patient population includes neonates <24-28 weeks and those with cardiovascular, GI, infectious disease, neurologic, and respiratory conditions
Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4
On-call is voluntary
6 weekend shifts required within a 6 week schedule
3 holiday shifts required
Epic EMR experience required
Provide direct bedside care to critically ill and premature neonates in a Level III/IV NICU setting
Candidates residing within 90 miles are considered local and accepted at a lower bill rate
RTO requests limited to 5 non-consecutive days, with only one holiday RTO request approved during Nov-Jan
All RTO must be approved by management prior to contract signing
Military certifications accepted, AHA preferred, ARC not accepted
First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience
