Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III/IV NICU travel assignment in Charlottesville, VA. The role requires 2+ years NICU experience, VA (or compact) license, NRP, BLS, and Epic EMR proficiency.

Night shifts are 4x12 hours (19:00–07:00) with a 13–26 week length, 1:3 patient ratio, and 3 weekends every 6 weeks. Travel housing, stipends, and per diem options may apply.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse licensed in Virginia (or compact) and in-hand NRP at time of consideration.
• RN with 2+ years in Level III NICU and experience using Epic EMR.
• BSN preferred; must meet all listed certifications and neonatal care skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care in Level III/IV NICU for critically ill neonates.
• Work night shifts 19:00–07:00; 4x12 hour schedule.
• Maintain patient ratio 1:3 and 3 weekends per 6 weeks; 13–26 week assignment.
• Utilize Epic EMR and perform procedures (lumbar punctures, chest tube care, etc.).
• Administer IV therapy and emergency meds; various neonatal supports.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III/IV NICU position requiring NRP certification and 2+ years of neonatal intensive care experience.

Requirements

• Active VA RN license or compact license (pending accepted, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required in-hand at time of consideration
• Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required (may be pending)
• Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• BSN preferred
• Experience with high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, therapeutic hypothermia, UAC/UVC, and central line care required
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills required
• Neonatal dosage calculation skills required
• Two professional references required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in a Level III/IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• 13 to 26 week assignment length with 36 or 48 hour weekly scheduling
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Required to work 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period
• Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• Floating required within scope of practice as needed
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide direct patient care for critically ill neonates including respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and neurologic support
• Perform procedures such as assisting with lumbar punctures, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and phlebotomy
• Administer IV therapy and emergency medications including vasopressors
• Time off cannot be approved during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 40 hours of RTO approved per contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration
• No time off approved around the Christmas holiday
• Travelers must have at least 12 months separation before returning to this facility, subject to leadership approval
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
