Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN with Level III NICU experience and travel nursing background for a night shift contract position.

The role requires TX licensure, current BLS/NRP certifications, and at least 2 years of NICU experience in a community hospital setting. Expect 3x12 hour night shifts, on-call duties, and travel distance constraints.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, NRP, and Advanced NRP certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years NICU experience.
• Level III NICU experience or higher required.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• Community hospital experience required.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with IV therapy and arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines.
• Experience managing high-risk deliveries and ventilator management.
• Neonatal dosage calculations and surfactant administration experience.
• Therapeutic hypothermia and thermoregulation experience.

Responsibilities

• NICU unit in a community hospital setting.
• Cares for neonates ranging from under 24-28 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation.
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
• On call and weekend work required.
• Epic charting system experience preferred.
• Responsibilities include attending high-risk deliveries, APGAR scoring, developmental care, and patient/family teaching.
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, with no exceptions for positive results.
• Candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of the facility, and local candidates are not accepted.
• License must be in hand prior to start date.
• First-time travelers may be considered given required experience and certifications are met.
