Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position in Massachusetts. The role requires active MA RN license and 2+ years of continuous MICU experience, with telemetry competency and BLS/ACLS certifications. Night shift, no rotation, and a periodical weekend requirement are expected.

• Attendings and residents present in ICU 24 hours/day
• Night shift set; every other weekend required
• Use EPIC EMR for charting
• Provide critical care nursing to a wide range of adult ICU patients
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (no exemptions)
• Free on-site parking
• Local candidates within 60 miles may be considered at reduced rate
• RTO disclosure at time of consideration

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required, no conditional or pending licenses accepted
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2+ years of continuous MICU experience required
• Must be able to read telemetry strips
• Telemetry competency required

Responsibilities

• Level III Trauma Center with a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU
• Care for adult patients with diagnoses including substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
• Attendings and residents present in the ICU 24 hours/day
• RN to patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients, 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg units
• Floating required, mostly to Medical/Surgical units
• Night shift schedule, does not rotate, with every other weekend required
• Uses EPIC EMR charting system
• Provide critical care nursing to a wide range of adult ICU patients
• Flu vaccine required during flu season with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
• Free on-site parking available
• Local candidates may be considered if residing within 60 miles of the facility, at a reduced rate
• RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration
