Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU Float role in Massachusetts. The position requires MA RN licensure and prior Level 1 trauma ICU or MICU experience, with responsibilities spanning Medical ICU, Neuro ICU, and general critical care units.

You will work 3x12-hour day shifts (36 hours/week) with no on-call duties; flexible 48-hour contracts available. Benefits include health/dental/vision, 401(k), weekly pay, and access to online CEUs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Float across Medical ICU/HVCC, SICU and IMC units.
• Care for sepsis, ESRD/AKI cases, and post arrest patients.
• Maintain patient ratios and provide critical care support.
• Work 3x12-hour AM shifts totaling 36 hours per week; no on-call.
• Contracts up to 48 hours.

• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (both through American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year experience in a Level 1 trauma ICU, or 2 years preferred experience in a MICU setting
• New graduate nurses with only 1 year of experience are not suitable for this unit

Responsibilities

• Float position covering Medical ICU/HVCC, SICU, and IMC units
• 32-bed Medical ICU also licensed for Neuro Critical Care patients
• Patient ratios of 1:2, or 1:1 for higher acuity cases
• Cases include sepsis, ESRD and AKI requiring CRRT/CVVH, post cardiac arrest care, and respiratory failure
• 3x12-hour AM shifts totaling 36 hours per week
• No on-call responsibilities
• 48-hour contracts accommodated
• Join a Medical ICU and Neuro Critical Care team split across two floors with strong staffing support
• Looking for experienced ICU nurses with solid clinical backgrounds
