American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Medical ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in Peoria, IL. The ideal nurse holds an active Illinois RN license, BLS/ACLS, and has ICU telemetry experience.

You will work 12-hour night shifts with EPIC charting, in a 20-bed MICU, with patient ratios of 1:2 and frequent floating. Housing and travel reimbursements are provided.

Qualifikationen

• Active IL RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Proficient in EKG strip interpretation
• Experience with arterial lines and central lines required
• Proficient in care of ventilated patients
• Advanced knowledge in titrating vasopressors and cardioactive medications required
• Experience with RT equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow

Aufgaben

• Acute care MICU setting with 20 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00pm-7:30am
• EPIC EMR used for charting
• Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday nights)
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Floating required, with travelers floating first; may take 3 patients on stepdown or 4 on gen med units
• Charge RN and 24/7 house supervisor support available
• 1 PCT to 10 patient ratio for nursing support
• Intensivist in-house from 0700-1900 with telemedicine and on-call attending support afterward
• Telemetry monitored by tele tech using Phillips monitors, with RNs responsible for reading and interpreting strips
• Common diagnoses include sepsis, ARDS, pneumonia, AKI, ETOH withdrawal, and overdose
• RNs responsible for titrating a wide variety of vasoactive and cardioactive medications per ordered parameters
• Unit-specific orientation includes EPIC training, educator time, shadowing, and preceptor shift
• Scrubs not provided; no color requirements, sweatshirts not permitted
• Holiday coverage varies by staffing needs
• Local candidates accepted
