Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a Med/Surg Tele RN with at least 2 years of recent experience for a day shift at an acute care hospital in South Carolina.

Active SC or compact RN license (in hand prior to start), BLS/ACLS required, epic charting experience preferred. This traveler role offers a 3x12 day shift, 1:5-6 patient ratios, and a generous housing allowance with travel and licensure reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active SC RN license or compact license required prior to start.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required.
• Tele competency required.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting preferred.
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line care.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response/code teams.
• Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, HFNC, nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management.
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE.

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting on a Med/Surg Tele unit.
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:45a-7:15p.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on‑call requirements.
• Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
• Level III Trauma facility with 286 staffed beds.
• Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and renal cases.

• First‑time travelers may be considered
• Previous MUSC perm staff (including PRN) must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration and is subject to facility approval
• Local candidates accepted on a case‑by‑case basis
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius to be prioritized for this position
• Employees may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
