Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN with 2 years of experience and an IN or Compact RN license for a 13-week day shift assignment in Indiana. You will work 3x12s (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) with occasional float to related units and every other weekend.

Requirements include an active IN/Compact RN license, BLS/ACLS, and 2 supervisor references. Cerner charting is preferred, with ICU/telemetry exposure beneficial.

Qualifications

Active RN license in IN or Compact status required before start date.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Minimum 2 years RN experience required.
Cerner charting experience preferred.
Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
2 supervisor references required.

Responsibilities

Care for Med/Surg Tele patients in a hospital setting.
Maintain patient ratios of 1:5–7.
Day shift 3×12s (7:00 AM–7:30 PM).
Work every other weekend.
Float to related units within scope of practice.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with 2 years of experience and a required IN or compact RN license for a 13-week day shift assignment.

Requirements

Active RN license (IN or Compact) required, must be in hand prior to start date
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Cerner charting experience preferred
Nursing degree from a college or university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
2 supervisor references required
Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, peripheral line care, and PICC line management
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry remote monitoring
Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac
Experience with PCA medication management
Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care preferred
Experience with chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac) and feeding tube care preferred
Experience with surgical drains preferred

Responsibilities

Med/Surg Tele unit in a hospital setting
Patient ratios of 1:5-7
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
Every other weekend required
Required to float to like units within scope of practice, including within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
Cerner charting system used
Provide nursing care for Med/Surg Tele patients, including cardiovascular, post-MI, and genitourinary/renal cases
Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval

Current or past travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment within the health system must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
