Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for night shift in South Carolina. Requires SC or compact RN license and 2+ years of Med/Surg experience, with IV start skills and BLS/ACLS certifications. Epic charting is used in the facility.

The role includes a 3x12 night schedule (7p-7a), patient ratio of 1:6, and potential weekend work. Travel and housing allowances are provided as benefits.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring SC or compact RN license and 2+ years of Med/Surg experience.

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2+ years of Med/Surg experience required
• IV start skills required
• Tele/management of cardiac drips experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical unit in a 119-bed acute care hospital with 54 unit beds
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a, with holidays as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide direct patient care to Medical Surgical patients including IV therapy and cardiac monitoring support as needed
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Candidates must reside within a 60-mile radius for consideration at standard travel pay rate; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous MUSC staff (including PRN) must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted prior to offer, subject to facility approval
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November, peak August-September)
