Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift in Florence, SC. Requires SC/Compact RN license and 2 years of Med/Surg experience. Epic EMR experience, BLS, and optional ACLS/NIHSS preferred.

34-bed unit with 4x12-hour nights, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, 1:6–7 patient ratio, every other weekend and on-call. Travel-friendly role with free parking, housing allowances, and per diem options. First-time traveler friendly; radius 60 miles.

Qualifications

• Active SC or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred.
• 2 years of Med/Surg experience preferred.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Experience with MS/Tele, Telemetry, Insulin administration, and Rapid Response required.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• SSN required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical unit within a 34-bed hospital.
• Night shift schedule of 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7, with potential flex to 1:7 during unplanned absences.
• Every other weekend work required.
• PRN on-call required for low census situations.
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities.
• Uses Epic EMR system.
• Provide direct patient care including IV therapy, wound care, cardiac monitoring, and medication administration.
• Skilled nursing tasks may include PICC line management, chest tube care, tracheostomy care, and colostomy management.
• Includes Royal blue scrub color requirement and on-site parking.
• First-time travelers accepted for this position.
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies; local candidates not accepted.
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application.
• Block scheduling requests can be made but are not guaranteed.
• During hurricane season, staff may be assigned to emergency response teams.
