Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position. The role requires an SC or Compact RN license and EPIC EMR experience, with telemetry responsibilities and 3x12 night hours (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) in a Med/Surg Tele unit.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of field experience, 1 year of EPIC EMR usage, and strong skills in IV therapy, dysrhythmia management, isolation precautions, and EKG testing. Travel requirements and housing support are provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (SC or Compact) required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg Tele required.
• First-time travelers require 3 years of specialty experience.
• At least 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required.
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Proficient in isolation precautions / PPE and oxygen administration via nasal cannula.
• EKG testing skills required.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit caring for orthopedic and bariatric patients with telemetry monitoring needs.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM).
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6.
• Uses Pyxis medication system.
• Floating required to similar units or nearby hospitals as needed based on census.
• Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia management for a telemetry patient population.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood products as needed.
• Perform central and peripheral line care and management.
• Respond to and manage cardiac emergencies and arrhythmias.
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols.
• Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance training required.
• Pre-assignment testing and required modules must be completed shortly after receiving login credentials.
• First-time travelers considered with required specialty experience.
