Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level I Trauma Center. Requires recent specialty experience and prior travel assignment history.

The role involves a 4x12 hour day shift, 1:7 team nursing, and potential floating within a 20-mile radius. Active TN or compact RN license, BLS, NIHSS, and ADN are required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (TN or compact) in compliance with NLC guidelines
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience; 3+ years preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, dysrhythmias interpretation

Responsibilities

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a Level I Trauma Center
• Team nursing model with a 1:7 ratio, supported by PCC and RN staff
• Day shift 4x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend rotation required as needed
• On-call required as needed
• May float between units and campuses within 20 miles

• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required, 3+ years preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
• Large hospital experience required
• At least one prior travel assignment required
• ADN accepted for this position
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Copy of driver's license and vaccination status required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center
• Team nursing model with a 1:7 ratio, supported by PCC and other RN staff
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend rotation required as needed
• On-call required as needed
• May float between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius
• Weekend block scheduling may be considered
• Provide direct patient care within a Level I Trauma Center setting
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility, strictly enforced
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of consideration, as RTO will not be approved after an offer is made
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must be willing to work 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, must work at least 1
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Former travelers who completed a full year assignment must wait one full year before returning
