American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Ortho/Tele position at a Level I Trauma Center.

This role requires prior travel and substantial hospital experience, with shifts 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and occasional on-call and weekend duties. Candidates must have an active RN license (TN or NLC), at least 2 years’ recent experience (3+ preferred), and orthopedics plus trauma center experience.

Qualifications

• RN license (TN state or NLC) in hand; no pending licensure.
• Minimum 2 years recent experience; 3+ preferred.
• Ortho and Level I Trauma Center experience required.
• Large hospital experience required; ADN accepted.
• Prior travel assignment experience required; driver’s license needed; vaccination status required.

Responsibilities

• Nursing care on Medical Surgical Ortho/Tele unit in a Level I Trauma Center.
• Team nursing model with 1:12 ratios across two RNs, two LPNs, a Med Nurse and a Charge nurse.
• Day shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM; on-call and weekend rotation as needed.
• Floating between units within a 20-mile radius when required.
• Provide medical-surgical care for orthopedic and telemetry patients.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Ortho/Tele position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring prior travel and large hospital experience.

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN state or NLC compact) in hand; no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required; 3+ years preferred
• Ortho experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• ADN accepted
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Vaccination status required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical Ortho/Tele unit in a Level I Trauma Center, short-term acute care hospital
• Team nursing model with ratios of 1:12, split between 2 RNs, 2 LPNs, a Med Nurse, and a Charge nurse
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend rotation required as needed
• Weekend block scheduling may be considered
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius
• Provide medical-surgical nursing care within an orthopedic and telemetry patient population
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, strictly enforced
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration; RTO requests made after an offer will not be honored and must be arranged directly with the manager or scheduler
• Holiday coverage required: if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must work 2 of the 3; if only 2 of these holidays fall within the assignment, must work at least 1
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Former travelers who completed a full year assignment must wait 1 full year before returning
