Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position in Greensboro, NC. The role requires prior travel nurse assignments and Epic proficiency to support a busy rehab-focused unit.

Candidates must hold an active NC license, BLS, and a minimum of 1 year RN experience. Preference given to those with acute care rehab, teaching hospital, or Trauma Level II experience and comfort with multi-campus float and complex patient care.

Qualifications

• Active NC license in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year RN experience
• Previous travel nurse assignment experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Dressing changes, aseptic/sterile tray setup, specimen labeling, phlebotomy, and collection
• Lab result interpretation, medication reconciliation, patient health history intake, and vital sign monitoring

Responsibilities

• Inpatient rehabilitation unit focusing on CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, and neurological diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:6, with one unit rotating a 1:7 ratio matched to equivalent acuity
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Required to work every third weekend and holidays as needed
• Float between all campuses within the health system
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide specialized rehabilitative nursing care to patients recovering from stroke, aneurysm, or post-surgical neurological conditions
• Perform telephone triage and manage pharmacy refill requests
• All RNs must pass a compliance EKG exam, with two attempts allowed and no study materials provided by the facility
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
