Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele role in Texas with at least one prior travel contract. Active TX or compact RN license and certifications (BLS, ACLS, NIHSS) are required. Epic experience, telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, and cardiac rhythm management are essential.

The position is a 3x12-hour day shift (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) in a Level II Trauma Center, with a 1:5 patient ratio and potential unit floating between facilities.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience required.
• At least one prior travel contract required.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• Telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, and cardiac rhythm interpretation and management.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center hospital.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Patient ratio of 1:5.
• Floating between units and sister facilities required.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Epic EMR used, experience required.
• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response.

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience required
• At least one prior travel contract required (seasoned traveler)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and medication protocols such as heparin and PCA preferred
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required

• RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process; post-offer time off requests may not be granted
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate
• Former permanent employees may return after a 3-month break if located more than 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
