Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a Level 2 trauma acute care unit requiring 2+ years of experience and BLS certification.

The assignment features 60-bed units across 7 West/7 East/5 East, with telemetry in a fast-paced acute care setting. Night shifts run 1830-0700 or 0630-1900, every other weekend, with mandatory floats to adjacent units.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (State or Compact/NLC) for the submitting state, no pending licenses accepted.
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• COVID vaccination status required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

Responsibilities

• 7 West/7 East/5 East units with 60 beds and telemetry.
• Acute care setting within a Level 2 trauma facility.
• Adult population with some pediatric cases (1–5/year).
• RN to patient ratio of 5:1.
• Care for diagnoses like post-surgical, diabetes, heart failure, hypertension, weakness, cancer.
• 12-hour night shifts (1830-0700 or 0630-1900), every other weekend.
• Float to 6E, acute rehab, geriatric psych.
• Uses Epic EMR and Alaris IV pumps.
• 13-week assignment.
• Care for diverse adult population including African American and Korean-speaking communities.
• Navy scrubs required; artificial nails prohibited.
• Must reside at least 50 miles away; verified by license.
• Pass/fail 90% skills exam during orientation.
• First-time travelers may be considered.

• RNs complete a pass/fail open-book exam on clinical skills during orientation, requiring a 90% score to continue in the assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
