Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele assignment in Tennessee. Requires 2 years of RN experience, active TN or compact license, and BLS/ACLS. Candidate must handle cardiac telemetry, IV therapies, line care, and post-procedure cardiovascular/renal patient care.

Night shift options are 3x12 or 4x12, with every-other-weekend work and no on-call duties. Housing and travel support available.

Qualifications

• Active TN or compact RN license required.
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• 2 years of RN experience required.
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation skills required.
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, line care, and PICC management.
• BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes and oxygen administration experience.
• Neurological care including CVA, SCI, TBI experience.
• Cardiac drips, heparin protocols, PCA experience.
• IV insulin protocols and feeding tube management experience.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• MS/Tele unit with 1:7 patient ratios.
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (18:30-7:00).
• 36/36, 36/48, 48/48 schedule options.
• Every other weekend required; no on-call.
• Floating to other units as needed.
• Cardiac monitoring including telemetry management.
• Epic charting system preferred.
• Cardiovascular care post angiogram/MI/post-surgery plus renal care.
• Support nursing student education and clinical teaching.
• Must live within 100 miles of facility.

• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA certification is the only accepted form)
• 2 years of RN experience required
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation skills required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
• Experience with neurological conditions including CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Experience managing cardiac drips, heparin protocols, and PCA
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and feeding tube management
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties
• Must live 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online coursework (CBLs)
• EKG testing required within 72 hours of signing, with a maximum of two attempts allowed
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
