The role features pediatric hematology/oncology infusion clinic experience, a team of clinicians, and a four-shift weekly schedule (4×9 hours, 8:00 AM–5:30 PM). No on-call or floating responsibilities are required.

Responsibilities

• Pediatric hematology/oncology infusion clinic setting.
• Team includes 11 MDs, 7 NP/PAs, 13 RNs, 2 orienting RNs, 2 clinical technicians, 1 front desk staff, and 1 manager.
• Patient ratio of 1 RN to 4-5 patients, with a max of 24 infusions/day; avg 14–15 patients daily.
• Administer infusion therapy including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, antibiotics, and antiemetics.
• Perform mediport access, peripheral IV placement, venipuncture, and central line care.
• Uses Epic EHR for documentation; schedule is four 9-hour shifts weekly, 8:00 AM–5:30 PM.
• No on-call or floating requirements.

• Common cases include hematologic disorders (Beta Thalassemia, Sickle Cell Disease, Iron Deficiency Anemia), oncologic conditions (Leukemia, Lymphoma, Neuroblastoma, Osteosarcoma), and other complex diagnoses (Lupus, Myasthenia Gravis, Encephalitis)
• Uses Epic EHR for documentation of patient care
• Schedule consists of (4) 9-hour shifts weekly, 8:00 AM-5:30 PM, with scheduling preferences considered
• No on-call requirements
• No floating requirements
• Administer infusion therapy including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, antibiotics, and supportive medications such as antiemetics and hydration
• Perform patient access procedures including mediport access, peripheral IV placement, venipuncture, and PICC and central line care
• Facility is not a full code site; BLS certification required for CPR, AED use, emergency response activation, and basic respiratory support
• Charge Nurse role rotates with one Charge Nurse assigned daily
• Nurse Manager available daily and in-clinic except during PTO
• Unit-specific orientation provided to review access and infusion skills and processes
• Dress code requires navy scrub bottoms with a navy or patterned scrub top, or other pediatric-appropriate t-shirt
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius, though local candidates are accepted at a lower rate
• Former permanent employees may return 12 months after their last shift worked
