American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology Acute unit in Peoria, IL. The role requires IV chemotherapy/immunotherapy experience and ONCC certification. IL RN license and BLS are required, Epic experience preferred.

The unit handles lymphoma, leukemia, hematology and gyn/onc patients with 19 beds. Shift are 12 hours with 7pm start for nights, 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio days and 1:6 nights, with some 1:4-5 days and 1:5-6 nights. No call; self-scheduling supported.

Formación

• Active IL RN license is required.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy immunotherapy certificate required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Experience administering IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy required.
• Experience with chemotherapy PPE and monitoring for side effects required.
• BSN not required.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration.
• Float within unit and other Gen Med level of care units as needed.
• 12-hour night shifts with 19:00 start time.
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
• No call or standby requirement; self-scheduling supported.
• Unit orientation 24-36 hours.
• Local candidates within 50 miles eligible for reduced local rate.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology Acute unit requiring IV chemotherapy/immunotherapy experience and ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification.

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Experience administering IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens required
• Experience with chemotherapy handling precautions (PPE) and monitoring for medication side effects required
• BSN not required
• Epic experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Acute care Oncology unit with 19 private beds
• Patient population includes Lymphoma, Leukemia, Hematology, radiation oncology, and Gyn/Onc patients
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights, varying to 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights, with 1:1 staffing for specific medications/therapies
• 12-hour night shifts with start time of 1900
• Every other weekend required (Fri/Sat nights)
• Every other holiday required
• No call or standby requirement
• Floating required within the unit's rotation and to other Gen Med level of care units
• Charge RN and House Supervisor available 24/7
• PCT support available on the unit
• House-wide telemetry monitoring with Phillips monitors; RNs not required to interpret strips
• RT manages Bipap and CPAP; RNs only manage Bipap if part of patient's home regimen
• Uses Epic Beacon for EMR documentation
• Provide direct patient care to oncology, hematology, and medical patients including chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration
• RNs are not required to titrate drips; medication adjustments require a physician order
• Common set-rate drips include heparin and chemotherapy (24-hour bags such as Methotrexate)
• Self-scheduling is used, coordinated with the unit scheduler, completed in 6-week increments
• No specific scrub color or dress code required
• Unit-specific orientation is 24-36 hours
• Local candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles are eligible for a reduced local rate
• No radius restriction for eligibility to work the assignment
• Requested time off must be submitted for consideration
