American Traveler is seeking an experienced Outpatient Oncology RN for a day shift infusion center in California. The role requires Chemo ONS/ONCC certification and prior travel experience, with 5x8.5 hour days, 8:00am–5:00pm shifts, no weekends and no on-call.

You will administer chemotherapy, monitor patients, manage IV therapy, and ensure safety with strict PPE and neutropenic precautions in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required; BSN is required.
• Chemo ONS/ONCC certification; OCN preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years outpatient oncology experience.
• Prior travel assignment experience required.
• IV therapy, port access, central/PICC line care.
• Experience administering chemotherapy via infusion.
• Knowledge of oncologic emergencies and symptom management.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct patient care in an outpatient oncology infusion setting.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Outpatient Oncology RN with Chemo ONS/ONCC certification and prior travel assignment experience for a day shift infusion center role.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (no temporary licenses accepted)
• BSN required
• Current BLS certification
• Chemo ONS/ONCC certification required; OCN certification preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of outpatient oncology experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, port access and management, and central/PICC line care
• Experience administering chemotherapy via continuous infusion and IV push
• Knowledge of oncologic emergencies including ATLS, anaphylaxis, extravasation, and sepsis
• Experience managing chemotherapy-related symptoms and side effects
• Familiarity with medications including antiemetics, corticosteroids, hormonal therapy, and Neupogen
• Experience caring for patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and hematologic malignancies
• Skilled in care coordination, isolation precautions/PPE, and neutropenic precautions
• Phlebotomy skills required
• Experience with psychosocial and hospice care, including patient and family education

Responsibilities

• Outpatient oncology infusion center setting
• 5x8.5 hour day shifts from 8:00am to 5:00pm with a 30 minute lunch
• No weekend requirements
• No call requirements
• Floating within scope as needed per clinic needs
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide direct patient care in an outpatient oncology infusion setting including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Administer IV push narcotic agents and assess medication tolerance and dependence
• Manage transdermal patches and other pain management therapies
• Dark blue scrubs required
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Recommended to keep RTO under 7 days per assignment when possible
• Former UCLA contractors, travelers, or employees must complete a 12-month separation before reapplying
• Candidates currently active with any University of California entity are not eligible for consideration
• First-time travelers are not considered for this role
