Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital in Missouri. EPIC charting experience and at least 1 year of acute Med/Surg nursing are required.

The role features a day shift of 4x12 hours (7:00-19:30) with every other weekend, and no on-call, plus housing and licensure support for travelers. You'll work on a Magnet-designated unit caring for patients with varied diagnoses, using BiPAP/CPAP, IV therapy, and complex wound and line care.

Qualifications

• Active MO RN license or compact license required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS required by compliance deadline.
• Must pass Relias EKG exam demonstrating interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• EPIC charting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical unit in a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I Trauma Center.
• Patient ratios of 1:3-5.
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00-19:30), can sign for 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating required within service line to meet facility needs.
• Cares for diverse acute medical-surgical patients.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring EPIC experience and at least 1 year of acute med/surg experience.

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or compact license required (must match permanent residence)
• BLS certification required; ACLS required by compliance deadline
• Must pass Relias EKG exam demonstrating interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skills in respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration), IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, wound care, and medication administration including heparin, insulin, and PCA
• Must be able to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Facial hair must accommodate respirator fit testing or be shaved for compliance

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients with acute renal failure, pneumonia, pancreatitis, UTI, encephalopathy/cirrhosis, sickle cell pain crisis, chest pain, COPD, asthma exacerbation, syncope, and diabetic ketoacidosis
• Provide direct patient care for a diverse acute medical-surgical population
• Navy blue scrubs required
• No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
• Standard travelers must reside outside a 75-mile radius and may work up to 18 months before requiring a 3-month break in service
• Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Pending license candidates may be considered for IL submissions
