Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an RN in Med/Surg for a day shift in California. The position requires CA RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and EPIC experience, with a minimum 2 years in the specialty. Weekend rotations apply, and Navy blue scrubs are required for this unit.

Responsibilities

• Care for Med/Surg Acute 1 unit within an acute care medical center
• Day shift schedule: 5:00 AM–5:30 PM, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation required
• Delivers coordinated nursing care according to standards and nursing process
• Supervises and directs activities of assigned nursing staff and coordinates care across disciplines
• Collects and analyzes patient data to determine diagnosis and care plan
• Participates in discharge planning to support continuity of care
• Delivers education to patients, families, and team members

• PALS certification preferred for first contract, but required if traveler extends for additional contracts
• EPIC EMR experience required
• BSN preferred
• Acute care facility experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
• Candidates with a prior hit on license will not be considered

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Acute 1 unit within an acute care medical center
• Day shift schedule, 5:00 AM-5:30 PM, 36 hours per week

• Delivers coordinated nursing care for assigned patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process

• Delegates and coordinates duties among healthcare team members
• Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers to deliver safe, humane, and caring treatment
• Provides education and learning opportunities to patients, families, and team members
• Required vaccinations as a condition of employment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates with no radius restriction
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested time off will be automatically declined
