Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a Med/Surg RN with recent Epic experience for a day shift travel assignment in Texas. Inpatient med/surg experience of at least 1 year is required, along with TX license and BLS. Telemetry, dysrhythmia management, isolation precautions, and IV therapy skills are essential.

Typical schedule is 4x12s (7:00–19:30) with 36 or 48-hour weekly options; travelers must live outside a 50-mile radius. Epic charting is used throughout the unit.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient med/surg experience required.
• Recent Epic experience within the last 6 months required.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response.
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE.
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula.
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management.

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical unit with telemetry monitored in a centralized unit.
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30.
• 36 or 48 hour weekly options available.
• Patient ratio of 1:6.
• Float required to units of equal or lesser acuity.
• Free floating charge nurse model with a house discharge nurse covering all departments.
• Charting performed in Epic.
• Provide direct patient care to med/surg population with telemetry monitoring needs.
• First time travelers are accepted for this position.
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, local candidates not accepted.
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation.
• Must complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing.
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted.
