Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an RN for a Medical-Surgical unit in California. Requires CA RN license, BLS, 1 year MS experience, and prior travel nursing experience with Epic EMR proficiency. Expect 3x12-hour day shifts, 1:4 patient load, and a rotating holiday schedule.

Local candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a lower bill rate. Navy blue scrubs are required for RNs, and references will be checked. Travel benefits apply per program guidelines.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license (compact license accepted at submission).
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Epic EMR experience.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE.
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care.
• Two professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, from supervisory roles in a comparable specialty/setting.

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting on the Medical Surgical unit.
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted facility.
• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit including respiratory support and IV therapy.
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day).
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position.
• Local candidates accepted, within a 50-mile radius, at a lower bill rate.
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not be within 50 miles of the facility.
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at time of submittal; requests made after submission may not be granted.
