Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in California. This travel assignment requires an active CA RN license, BLS/ACLS, and prior travel nursing experience. You will work 7:00 AM-7:30 PM in a 1:4 MS/Tele unit with Epic EMR, performing cardiac monitoring, wound care, and a range of acute care duties in a teaching hospital.

Two supervisor references are required, along with RTO constraints and housing/benefits provided. Open positions: 2.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted).
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications in-hand.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience.
• Minimum 1 year MS/Tele acute care experience in past 2 years.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Epic EMR experience documented in work history.
• Two supervisor references including at least one from the specific unit within the last year.

Responsibilities

• MS/Tele unit setting within an academic teaching hospital.
• 1:4 patient ratio.
• Day shift schedule (7:00 AM-7:30 PM).
• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management.
• Genitourinary/renal care including CBI, pre/post hemodialysis management, and TURP.
• Neurological/psychiatric care including craniotomy and seizure disorder management.
• Medication administration including epidural analgesia, heparin protocols, PCA, and thrombolytic agents.
• Cardiac drip management (no titration).
• Feeding tube care and management.
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE.
• IV insulin protocols.
• Total joint replacement orthopedic care.
• TR Band cardiovascular care.
• IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration.
• Respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration.
• Use of Rapid Response/Code teams.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and wound care for a med/surg telemetry population.
• Candidates must be gone a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler if previously employed at the facility.
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers.
• Minimum 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract is highly preferred, with none permitted in the first two weeks of the assignment.
• Screenshot confirmation of requested RTO required at time of application.
• First-time travelers are not considered for this role unless otherwise noted.
