Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med/Surg Registered Nurse for a night shift assignment in California. The ideal candidate holds an active CA RN license, BSN, BLS, ACLS, and demonstrates Epic EMR experience with travel nursing background.

Responsibilities include med/surg care, cardiac monitoring, rapid response participation, IV therapies, respiratory support, and code team collaboration. Night shift is 3x12 hours (19:00–07:30) with potential weekend requirements.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMS A not accepted).
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• BSN required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required.
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required and must be noted in work history.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Two supervisor references required.
• Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg unit setting.
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30).
• Weekend shifts as needed.
• Utilizes Epic EMR.
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response duties.
• Participation in Rapid Response/Code teams.
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management.
• Respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration.
• Non-invasive airway management.
• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg unit including cardiac monitoring and emergency response.
• Support use of rapid response and code teams as needed.
• Manage peripheral IV lines and respiratory support equipment.
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role.
• Previous employees must have been separated for at least 1 year to return as a traveler.
• No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment.
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract is highly preferred.
