Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Med/Surg RN for night shift in South Carolina. Active SC RN license or compact license required, with wound vac and chest tube experience.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of community hospital experience, BLS (AHA), and is comfortable with Epic charting. Travel-friendly benefits include housing allowance and licensure reimbursements. Open to first-time travelers depending on qualifications.

Qualifications

• > Active SC RN license or compact license must be in hand prior to start
• > BLS certification (AHA only required)
• > ACLS certification preferred
• > Minimum 1 year of experience required
• > Community hospital experience required
• > Experience with wound vacs, chest tubes, and surgical dressings required
• > Previous charge experience preferred
• > SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45p-7:15a)
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide care for patients with neurological, psychiatric, respiratory, and genitourinary/renal conditions, including CVA and renal failure cases
• Skills include isolation precautions/PPE, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, nasal cannula use, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Level III Trauma Center with 286 staffed beds
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• First-time travelers may be accepted depending on qualifications
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies, with priority given to non-local candidates
• All required RTO must be submitted at time of application
• Staff may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November)
