Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a day-shift assignment in Florence, SC. Requires SC or Compact RN license, 2 years of Med/Surg experience, and Epic EMR proficiency. BLS is required; ACLS/NIHSS preferred. SSN is required for consideration and candidates must live more than 60 miles away.

The 34-bed unit uses 4x12 hour shifts (7:00am–7:30pm) with every-other-weekend work and on-call during low census. Housing allowance, travel/licensure support, and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license in hand prior to start
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• 2 years of Med/Surg experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience in MS/Tele and Telemetry settings preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, insulin administration, and rapid response preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry remote monitoring preferred
• SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work on a Medical Surgical unit within a 34-bed hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7, with flexing to 1:7 during unplanned staffing shortages
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00am-7:30pm
• Required to work every other weekend
• PRN on-call required for low census situations
• Float within scope to like units or sister facilities as needed
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit, including wound care, isolation precautions, and emergency response support
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Free parking provided onsite
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on the position
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; locals are not accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application for approval consideration
• During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
