American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week assignment in Texas. The role requires a TX or compact RN license, 2+ years of Med/Surg experience, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, and travel experience.

You will work 4x12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with on-call and weekend requirements as scheduled. Responsibilities include direct patient care in Med/Surg with telemetry and orthopedic cases, blood product administration, and line care.

Qualificações

• Active TX or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration.
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience and travel experience required.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications are required.
• Experience with blood products, IV therapy, and line care preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct Med/Surg care across a diverse patient population with telemetry and orthopedic cases.
• Work 4x12 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM; 36–48 hours per week.
• On-call approximately once per 6-week schedule and 6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks.
• Complete onboarding modules and onsite drug screening with 72-hour lab work turnaround.
• Maintain patient safety with isolation precautions and wound care as needed.
• Coordinate care for medically complex patients and collaborate with team.
• Meet 1:5 patient ratio targets and document care promptly in Allscripts.

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week assignment requiring 2 years of experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• Travel experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Allscripts charting experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with blood product administration and starting/maintaining IVs
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Experience with ABG interpretation preferred
• GI care skills including bowel obstruction management and colostomy/ileostomy care
• GU/renal skills including continuous bladder irrigation and hemodialysis management, with renal failure experience preferred
• Neurological/psychiatric care experience including CVA and mood disorder management
• Medication administration experience including Heparin, Insulin, and PCA
• Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac management
• Experience in Med/Surg, MS/Tele, telemetry, orthopedics (including ortho trauma and total joint replacement), plastics, and surgical drain management, with short stay/23-hour unit experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and rapid response/code team protocols

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 36 or 48 hours per week considered
• On-call required approximately once per 6-week schedule
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule (Saturday and Sunday count as weekend shifts)
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Provide direct patient care across a diverse Med/Surg patient population with telemetry and orthopedic cases
• Complete non-billable orientation modules averaging 6-8 hours during onboarding
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, with mandatory clearance required
• Candidates must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer or have a completion plan in place
• Hard document due date is Thursday at 2 PM CST prior to start, with some flexibility case-by-case
• Previous permanent staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside within 150 miles of the facility for consideration
• Local candidates are not accepted
