Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift in Wisconsin, requiring 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active WI or compact RN license.

The position offers 3x12-hour nights (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) on a 4SW unit, with patient ratios of 1:5–6. Float to similar units may be required, and prior charge nurse experience is preferred. Travel-friendly and local options available.

Qualifications

• Active WI or compact RN license required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg RN experience required.
• Charting system experience required.
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Work on a Medical Surgical unit (4SW) caring for post-surgical and GI patients.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6.
• Float to similar units to care for Med/Surg patients may be required.
• Every other weekend coverage required.
• Provide direct patient care for a variety of post-surgical and GI medical conditions.
• Skills include IV therapy, port access/management, PICC line management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, telemetry monitoring, and wound care.

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Charting system experience required (any system)
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required

Responsibilities

• Work on a Medical Surgical unit (4SW) caring for post-surgical and GI patients
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Float to similar units to care for Med/Surg patients may be required
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Patient population includes colon surgery, Whipple surgery, cholecystectomy, liver resections, bariatric surgery, GYN surgery, mastectomy, hernia surgery, colitis, pancreatitis, abdominal pain, gastroparesis, bowel obstruction, and Crohn's disease
• Provide direct patient care for a variety of post-surgical and GI medical conditions
• Skills utilized include IV therapy, port access/management, PICC line management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, telemetry monitoring, and wound care
• Facility requires OSHA Respirator Clearance and fit testing prior to start, which includes shaving for proper mask seal (no medical or religious exemptions accepted)
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates residing within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not accepted for this position
• Clinicians cannot work more than 1 year as a traveler at this facility without taking a 6-month break before returning
