Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment in South Carolina. Requires 2+ years of Med/Surg nursing experience and an active SC or compact RN license (pending license okay if obtained before start). BLS certification is required.

The role involves 3x12-hour night shifts (18:45-7:15) with a 1:6 patient ratio and floating to other MS/Tele units as needed. Will use Epic EMR and complete online learning modules prior to start.

Qualifications

• Active SC or compact RN license required (pending license accepted if obtained prior to start).
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required.
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood products, and IV care.
• Colostomy/ileostomy management and feeding tube care experience.

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical unit (4 South) in a hospital setting.
• Patient ratio of 1:6.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15).
• Float to other MS units as needed and be part of a pool for 5 MS and 4 Tele units.
• Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg and Telemetry populations (post-surgical, ortho, respiratory).
• Use Epic EMR for documentation.

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and a SC or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required (pending license accepted if obtained prior to start)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, peripheral line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy management and feeding tube care
• Experience with CVA (cerebrovascular accident) patients preferred
• Experience with Heparin and PCA medication administration
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE
• Experience with nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• Ortho trauma and total joint replacement experience required
• Experience with surgical drains
• Telemetry/remote cardiac monitoring experience preferred
• Nursys or other license verification required for consideration

• Required to float to other MS units as needed and will be part of a resource pool floating to 5 MS and 4 Tele units

• Complete non-billable online learning modules (approximately 2 hours) prior to start, with completion confirmation sent to both traveler and facility
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous staff RNs at this facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of submission
