Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a busy inpatient surgical unit in New Hampshire. Requires Level I/II trauma center experience and NH or compact RN licensure.

Strong telemetry, central line care, wound management, and post-surgical care are essential. The role features a 36-bed unit with two negative pressure rooms, 12-hour shifts, and a compensation package that includes housing allowances and travel reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active NH RN license or Compact license with proof of residency
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent Med/Surg experience
• Recent Level I or Level II trauma center experience within last 2 years
• Experience with chest tubes, lines, tubes and drains for post-surgical patients
• Experience with drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone
• Experience with trachs and laryngectomies
• Telemetry experience
• Experience managing complex wounds
• Experience with central line care, maintenance, and blood draws

Responsibilities

• 36-bed adult surgical unit caring for trauma and acute care surgical patients
• 2 negative pressure rooms for COVID-positive patients
• Diagnoses include spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic trauma, hernia repairs, obstructions, and surgeries
• LNA to patient ratio of 1:12
• RN to patient ratio of 1:4 days and 1:5 nights
• 12-hour PM-AM shift schedule
• Fast-paced unit focused on rehabilitation and supporting trauma and surgical patients
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
