Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg assignment in Georgia. The role requires GA or Compact licensure, BLS and NIHSS, and at least one year of RN experience plus one prior travel assignment.

The 44-bed Med/Surg unit operates with 12-hour day shifts (7am–7pm), every other weekend, and holiday coverage. Floating to other units may be required; Caribbean Blue scrubs are required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license GA or Compact required.
• BLS and NIHSS (AHA-certified) required.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience.
• At least 1 prior travel assignment.
• BSN not required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Acute Care 2 (Med/Surg) unit of an acute care hospital.
• 44-bed unit with 40 staff members.
• Patient ratios of 1:5, possibly 1:6, for both day and night shifts.
• CNAs support the unit at a ratio of 1:8, generally 1:10, and may also serve as sitters.
• Telemetry monitoring is available but managed on a different unit.
• Uses MEDITECH as the EMR/charting system; prior experience preferred.
• 12-hour day shifts from 7am-7pm; every other weekend; holiday coverage as needed.
• Floating required to all acute care units and cardiac unit for medical patients, or to the Emergency Center for acute care patient holds.
• Orientation is 1 week with EMR training; floor orientation is 2 additional days.
• Caribbean Blue scrub color required.
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility based on the address listed on the traveler's driver's license.
• Not eligible for placement if previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months.
