Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a teaching hospital in a night shift role requiring EPIC charting experience and at least 1 year of RN experience.

Responsibilities include caring for CHF, COPD, SBO, sepsis, stroke, DM, ortho, chest pain, and wounds, with a 1:5-6 patient ratio on a 19:00–07:00 schedule. First-time travelers are welcome; housing and travel reimbursement options are provided.

Qualifications

• Active WI or compact RN license in hand required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required; EPIC charting experience required.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred; skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, line management, and blood product administration.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a teaching hospital.
• Patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, SBO, sepsis, stroke, DM, ortho, chest pain, and wounds.
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00).
• Every third weekend required.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Care for a diverse Med/Surg patient population with varying acuity levels.
• Navy blue scrubs required.
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are not accepted.
• Clinicians cannot work past 1 year as a traveler and must take a 6-month break before returning.
