Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit in Myrtle Beach, SC. This 13-week assignment features a night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM and requires an active SC or compact RN license.

Qualifications

• Active SC or compact RN license required.
• BLS certification (AHA only).
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Experience with central lines, chest tubes, foley and suprapubic catheters, pressure ulcers, restraints, and fall risk patients.

Responsibilities

• 30-bed Medical Surgical Department in a new facility.
• 13-week assignment with night shift schedule (19:00-07:30).
• Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical examination, and data analysis.
• Implement nursing interventions consistent with the plan of care and physician-prescribed medical plans.
• Conduct hourly rounds utilizing the 4 P's.
• Maintain a caring, compassionate, and respectful environment for patients, families, and visitors.
• Utilize appropriate health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff.
• Contribute to department growth through precepting, mentoring, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Understand proper storage and safety handling of medications including large volume IVs and pre-packaged kits.
