Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/LDRP assignment in Omaha, NE. The role requires NRP certification, BLS, and at least 2 years of L&D experience, with a 12-hour night shift schedule.

Responsibilities include managing a 14-bed L&D unit on a Level 2 trauma hospital, titrating drips, supporting water births, and following EPIC EMR workflows. Travel housing and licensure reimbursements are offered.

Qualifications

Active RN license in NE or Compact state.
Current BLS and NRP certifications.
Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience.
Driver's license required to verify permanent address.
Two professional references: one supervisor (last 12 months) and one peer/supervisor (last 3 years) with dates of employment and rehiring eligibility.

Responsibilities

LDRP unit within an acute care, Level 2 trauma hospital.
14-bed L&D unit with staffing per AWHONN standards.
Manage patient population including intrauterine pregnancy, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, water births.
Titrate drips (Pitocin, mag, insulin, antihypertensives, hemorrhage meds).
Charge nurse assigns patients each shift.
Utilize EPIC EMR.
Work 12-hour night shifts (0630-1900 or 1830-0700).
Weekend rotation every third weekend; holiday rotation every 3 years.
Potential to float to other OB floors or campuses.

LDRP unit within an acute care, Level 2 trauma hospital
14-bed L&D unit with fluctuating ratios following AWHONN staffing standards
Patient population includes intrauterine pregnancy, pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, and water births
RNs are required to titrate drips including Pitocin, mag, insulin, antihypertensives, and hemorrhage medications
Charge nurse present on every shift and takes a patient assignment
1 OB tech supports each shift
Uses EPIC EMR
12-hour night shifts, scheduled 0630-1900 or 1830-0700
Weekend rotation required every third weekend
Holiday rotation includes major and minor holidays every 3 years
May voluntarily float to other departments as a sitter/tasker or to another campus for OB floors
Provide labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum nursing care including drip titration and support for water births
2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
New RNs must pass a pass/fail, open-book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply will result in contract termination
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, verified via driver's license
Candidates may not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
Upfront RTO is limited to 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract, and additional RTO will not be approved after submission
