Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with a NM or Compact license and at least 2 years of L&D experience for a day shift assignment.

The role covers antepartum and delivery care, high-risk cases, and C-section circulating/recovering, with 1:2 patient ratios and 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM); housing and travel reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license NM or Compact; must be obtained prior to start.
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required.
• Minimum of 2 years L&D experience; not including orientation.
• EPIC experience or other charting systems; EPIC preferred.
• EFM, obstetrical triage, and vaginal exams experience required.
• Central lines (CVC/PICC) care; IV therapy capability.
• Medication administration including anticoagulation, antihypertensives, insulin drips.

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit with 100-200 births per month.
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 3x12-hour shifts.
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week.
• 1:2 patient ratio; weekend rotation 4–6 shifts every 6 weeks.
• Floating to like units within scope as needed with orientation.
• Antepartum and L&D care including high risk and C-sections.
• Scrubs provided; must reside outside 50-mile radius.
• Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as traveler.

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending NM/compact license accepted if obtained prior to start
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (pending certifications accepted)
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of L&D experience required, not including new graduate orientation
• Any charting system experience accepted, EPIC experience preferred
• Experience with fetal monitoring (EFM), sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical triage
• Experience maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC) and administering IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Experience with medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit with a facility birth volume of 100-200 per month
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Weekend rotation of 4-6 shifts per 6 weeks
• Floating to like units within scope required as needed, with brief orientation provided
• Antepartum and Labor & Delivery care including high risk and vaginal deliveries, and circulating/recovering for C-sections
• Scrubs provided
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as locals are not accepted
• Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
