Job summary

American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for Labor & Delivery in Oklahoma. Requires OK or compact RN license and NRP, with BLS; 13-week assignment and night shift 18:30–07:00, including weekends/holidays per department needs.

Work in a hospital L&D unit providing care before, during, and after childbirth; monitor maternal/fetal status, assist deliveries, and support discharge planning with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Active OK or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required.
• NRP certification (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics) required.
• Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start required.
• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start required.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise critical thinking and decisive judgment
• Ability to work in a stressful environment

Responsibilities

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
• Provide critical care to expectant mothers and newborns before, during, and immediately after childbirth
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and manage pain including epidurals
• Assist with vaginal or surgical deliveries
• 13-week assignment with a shift schedule of 18:30-07:00
• Required to work up to 6 weekend shifts as needed per department needs
• Holiday coverage required as needed per department needs
• Implement and monitor patient care plans, recording and communicating patient condition as appropriate
• Serve as a primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
• Carry out physician and nursing orders
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
• Educate families on postpartum recovery
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate that varies by facility location
