American Traveler is seeking a night shift RN for a Labor & Delivery/LDRP unit in Colorado. Requires recent LDRP experience and an active CO or compact RN license. Certifications in BLS, AWHONN fetal monitoring, and NRP are required.

Qualifications

• Active CO or compact RN license required.
• BLS, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring (or C-EFM), and NRP certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of LDRP experience within the last 3 years.
• Able to care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients.

Responsibilities

• 12-bed LDRP unit within a Level III trauma hospital.
• Handle approximately 300 births per year with 1 C-Section room on the unit.
• Follow AWHONN 1:1 laboring and 1:2-3 for couplets.
• Night shift: 7p–7a, 6–9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule.
• Float to Zone 3 only in extreme cases; occasional mastectomy overflow stays.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Labor & Delivery/LDRP unit requiring recent LDRP experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring (or C-EFM), and NRP
• Minimum 1 year of LDRP experience within the last 3 years
• Must be comfortable caring for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients
• Triage experience required
• Must be comfortable circulating and recovering C-Sections
• Must be able to titrate Pitocin and Magnesium drips
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Driver's license copy required for submission

Responsibilities

• 12-bed LDRP unit within an acute care, Level III trauma hospital
• Unit handles approximately 300 births per year with 1 C-Section room on the unit
• Follows AWHONN ratios of 1:1 for laboring patients and 1:2-3 for couplets
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Night shift, 7p-7a schedule with 6-9 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule
• Schedule built by leadership 6 weeks at a time; travelers expected to help fill gaps in permanent staffing
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Rare call/standby requirement for low census situations
• No routine floating required, but may float within Zone 3 (OCH, LUH, SAH, SAN) in extreme circumstances
• At times the unit may take overflow mastectomy patients, typically for an overnight stay, with orientation provided
• Provide direct patient care across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn populations
• Unit-specific orientation includes 1-3 shifts with a preceptor
• Clinicians must be in-state for orientation week, even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Scrubs provided (blue hospital scrubs)
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility
• All time off requests must be submitted prior to the start of the assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered given relevant LDRP experience
