Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for night shift contracts in a community hospital setting. Active MD or compact RN license, NCC C-EFM certification and multiple perinatal skills are required.

You will handle antepartum, labor and postpartum care, with a 1:2 patient ratio and 3x12 or 4x12 schedules. Includes competitive pay, benefits, housing support, travel and licensure reimbursements, and non-taxed per diem.

Qualifications

• Active MD or compact RN license required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE.
• NCC C-EFM certification in hand at time of consideration.
• CPI certification required; AWHONN Advanced/Intermediate preferred.
• 1–2 years L&D experience; 2 years preferred.
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy and blood product administration.
• Proficient with Pitocin, Magnesium sulfate and Terbutaline.
• Neonatal care skills in delivery, APGAR and newborn assessment.
• Experience across antepartum, labor, delivery and postpartum care.

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit duties in a hospital setting.
• Care for neonates through postpartum patients; 1:2 ratio.
• Night shift 3x12 or 4x12; 19:00–07:30; every other weekend.
• Holiday coverage and floating as needed; no on-call requirements.
• Utilize Epic charting; provide labor, delivery and postpartum care.
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery.
• Support newborn care including circumcision, cord care and teaching.
• Provide breastfeeding/lactation support; manage analgesia including epidural/PCA.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift contract requiring MD or compact RN license and NCC C-EFM certification in hand.

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
• NCC C-EFM certification required in hand at time of consideration
• CPI certification required (Calm Every Storm online version accepted)
• AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• 1-2 years of L&D experience required, with 2 years preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Terbutaline
• Proficient in neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and newborn assessment
• Experience with antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum care and procedures
• Skilled in fetal monitoring including EFM, IUPC placement, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Community hospital experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Floating required within specialty and to mother/baby unit as needed
• No on‑call requirements
• Epic charting system preferred
• Provide comprehensive nursing care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C‑section circulation, and recovery care
• Support newborn care including circumcision assistance, cord care, and discharge teaching
• Provide breastfeeding and lactation support to postpartum patients
• Manage pain treatment including epidural and PCA use
• Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments
• First‑time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced travel rate
• Facility averages fewer than 100 births per month
