Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery assignment in Arizona. The role requires 3+ years of high-acuity L&D experience and a Trauma Level I background.

This travel position features a 3x12 night shift schedule, weekend requirements, and comprehensive benefits including housing allowance and travel reimbursements. Epic EMR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (AZ or Compact) required in hand to apply.
• Minimum 3 years of high acuity L&D experience, or 2 years if in teaching/high-risk setting.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate.
• Trauma Level I facility experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers with 5+ years experience considered.
• Proficient in labor and delivery nursing care in a high-acuity setting.

Responsibilities

• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00-7:30.
• Labor and Delivery unit with 1-2 couplet patient ratios.
• Supports Antepartum, LDRP, and Mother/Baby populations.
• Minimum of 3 weekend shifts per month (Sat/Sun).
• Occasional floating to PostPartum within scope of practice.
• Epic charting preferred; other EMR acceptable.
• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing care in a high-acuity setting.
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and complex antepartum procedures.
• Deliver neonatal care immediately after birth, including newborn assessments and parent education.
• Manage epidural, general anesthesia, and pain management protocols.
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Terbutaline.
• Facility performs over 300 births per month.
• Holiday RTO requests reviewed case-by-case.
• Local candidates accepted if residing 75+ miles away.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 3+ years of high acuity L&D experience and a Trauma Level I background.

Requirements

• Active RN license (AZ or Compact) required in hand to apply
• Minimum 3 years of high acuity L&D experience, or 2 years if in a teaching or high-risk facility setting
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Trauma Level I facility experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required, though first-time travelers with 5+ years of experience will be considered
• Skilled in sterile speculum and vaginal exams, NST, EFM/IUPC monitoring, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experienced in high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management
• Skilled in postpartum care including vaginal delivery, cesarean section, couplet care, multiple births, and hemorrhage management
• Experienced in neonatal care including cord care, newborn assessment, infant identification, and discharge teaching
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and infusion pump management
