American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for Labor & Delivery in California. The role requires active CA RN license and advanced fetal monitoring certification, with 12-hour shifts, 1:1 to 1:4 patient ratios, and on-site collaboration with RT and anesthesia.

Responsibilities include newborn care during C-sections, Cerner EMR usage, and holiday coverage. Travel housing and licensure reimbursements are provided along with competitive pay and benefits.

Formación

• Active CA RN license (Standard or Compact) required.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience.
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM).
• COVID vaccine required.
• Must assist with newborn care during C-sections alongside RT and anesthesia support.
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration.
• Two professional references: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility.

Responsabilidades

• Family Birth Center unit with 3 rooms, with potential crossover to MedSurg when full
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:4
• 12-hour day shifts with every-other-weekend requirement
• Uses Cerner EMR
• First to float, primarily to Med-Surg for tasking support
• Floor-specific orientation provided, at least 2 days per unit that staff may float to
• On-call expectations may include being the sole L&D nurse on-site with a second nurse on-call
• RT support available 24/7; pharmacy not available 24/7
• No dedicated IV team, tele, or vent capabilities on this unit
• Charge nurse coverage provided; no nurse aide support
• Approximately 150-175 births per year, with high-risk deliveries (36 weeks or less) transferred to other facilities
• Provide comprehensive care for L&D patients in a family birth center setting
• Assist with newborn care during C-section deliveries in coordination with respiratory therapy and anesthesia teams
• Holiday coverage follows the permanent staff rotation schedule
• Hospital-issued ceil blue scrubs required
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
