American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for Labor & Delivery travel assignment in Texas. Required 2+ years L&D experience, active TX or compact RN license, and certifications (BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, NRP). Position includes 3x12-hour day shifts, a 16-week assignment with possible extension, and travel housing allowances.

Cerner experience preferred; candidates reside within a 50-mile radius but local applicants are not accepted. Open positions: 1.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital with 200-300 births per month.
• Rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulating, and transition duties.
• Circulate for plus assist with high-risk vaginal deliveries and C-sections.
• Fetal monitoring and NST; charting and obstetrical triage.
• Some holiday coverage; travel nurse with 3x12-hour shifts.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required; pending license accepted with submission but must be active before start
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
• Previous Charge RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, NRP
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and infusion pump use
• Experience with high-risk antepartum, vaginal and C-section deliveries, and fetal monitoring (external and internal)
• Experience with magnesium sulfate therapy, pitocin, and other L&D medication administration
• RTO must be submitted with application

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital with 200-300 births per month
• Rotates through triage, antepartum, labor, circulating, and transition duties (no post-partum)
• Must be able to circulate and transition babies as well as labor patients
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
• 16-week assignment with a minimum of 13 weeks considered
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Responsibilities include assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and newborn care in the delivery room
• Performs fetal monitoring, including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and IUPC placement/calibration
• Provides antepartum care including NST, sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical triage
• Some holiday coverage expected
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius; local candidates not accepted
• Onsite drug screening required upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with no exceptions for failure
• First‑time travel nurses considered as long as they meet experience requirements
