Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Labor & Delivery night shift with L&D and mother/baby experience in Morganton, NC. The role requires an active NC or compact RN license, BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications, and strong L&D expertise.

The unit includes 16 LDRP rooms, a C-section Suite, PACU, and a 4-bed Special Care Nursery; night shifts are 3×12 hours. Staff will float within the hospital with support from a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Active NC or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
• L&D and mother/baby experience required.

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit with LDRP rooms, C-section Suite, PACU, and NICU nursing support.
• Night shift schedule of 3×12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Float within the hospital; no float to other services outside Family Center.
• Support from preadmit, discharge planner, maternity navigator, educator, and lactation consultants.
• Use EPIC-integrated prenatal tools and Eat, Sleep, Console programs.
• Participate in statewide and national maternal/infant process-improvement initiatives.
• Local candidates accepted; returning staff must have been separated for at least 1 year.

• Labor and Delivery unit with 16 LDRP rooms, a C-section Suite, PACU, and a 4-bed Special Care Nursery
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Closed specialty unit with no float expectations outside the Family Center
• Candidates will float within the hospital
• Unit supported by a preadmit nurse, discharge planner/case worker, maternity navigator, unit educator, and lactation consultants
• Unit utilizes EPIC-integrated validated prenatal screening tools and evidence-based programs such as Eat, Sleep, Console
• Unit is actively involved in statewide and national process improvement initiatives for maternal and infant care
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Returning staff must have been separated for at least one year to be considered
• Candidates with a DUI or DWI within the past year will not be accepted; other background findings reviewed case by case
