Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN with 2+ years of L&D experience, including high-risk and immediate newborn care, for a night-shift assignment in Asheville, NC.

The unit features 16 beds and about 120 staff, with 1:1 and 1:2 patient ratios. Night shift is 6:45 PM–7:15 AM; travel-friendly requirements include no more than 50 miles from facility and floating to MFMU, MOMB, and NICU as needed.

Qualifications

• Active NC or compact RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required.
• High-risk L&D experience required.
• Immediate newborn care experience required.
• Circulating experience preferred.
• Required certifications: NRP, BLS/ACLS, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN or NCCEFM).
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months.
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Labor & Delivery unit with 16 beds and approximately 120 staff.
• Patient ratios of 1:1 and 1:2.
• Uses Baxter pumps and Philips electronic fetal monitoring equipment.
• Charts in Cerner and Fetal Ink EMR systems.
• Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.
• Floating required to MFMU, MOMB, and NICU units.
• Weekends and on-call not required but available upon approval.
• Unit performs vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and C-hysterectomy procedures.
• Scrubs provided by the facility.
• Candidates should be outgoing, friendly, and adaptable.
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates will not be considered.
