Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for Labor & Delivery on the night shift in a teaching hospital. The role requires NC or compact RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/NRP, and AWHONN FHM certifications, with at least two years of L&D experience.

The assignment features 36 hours per week, 1900-0700 shifts, 1:1/1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios, EPIC EMR proficiency, and a strong unit culture. First-time travelers are welcome to apply, with on-campus parking and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Active NC or compact RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN FHM certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of labor and delivery experience required.
• Minimum 12 months core experience in unit specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year.
• Experience with EPIC EMR required.
• Skills in mother and baby care and delivery required.
• Professional reference dated within the last year required, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN.
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit with 10 beds in a teaching hospital with Chest Pain and Stroke Center designations.
• Patient population includes laboring mothers with gestational DM, preeclampsia, and HTN.
• RN to patient ratios of 1:1 and 1:2 per AWHONN standards.
• Surgical tech, charge nurse, phlebotomy, RT, and intensivist support available on unit.
• Fetal monitoring equipment available on unit.
• EMR: EPIC.
• Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, GE fetal heart monitors, Novii, Neptune, Bovie, and Panda Warmers.
• Night shift schedule, 1900-0700, 36 hours per week.
• Every other weekend rotation required.
• No floating required.
• No on-call or call-back requirements.
• Provide direct patient care for laboring mothers and assist with delivery of babies.
• Strong unit culture with departmental orientation lasting 3 days plus facility NEO.
• Scrubs provided and must be changed in/out on unit at start and end of shift.
• Free on-campus parking available.
• Holiday coverage required for 75% of holidays.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel rate.
• Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position.
