Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a community hospital setting. Requires at least 2 years of recent L&D, Postpartum, and Nursery experience and active KY or compact RN license.

Role involves rotating shifts (3x12/4x12, 19:00–07:30), Meditech EMR usage, and floating within scope. Candidates must live 75+ miles away, with travel-friendly benefits and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Active KY or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration.
• Minimum 2 years of current L&D experience in a level 1 acute care setting.
• Experience in L&D, Postpartum, and Nursery required.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Monitoring.
• Meditech EMR experience required.
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted.
• Driver's license with address matching residence.
• Two professional references: Charge or higher and Supervisor within last year.

Responsibilities

• Rotating coverage across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery units.
• Hospital setting with low-risk deliveries and 100-200 births per month.
• Night shift schedule rotating 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (19:00-07:30).
• Uses Meditech EMR.
• Floating within scope of practice.
• Every other weekend required.
• Care includes antepartum, obstetrical triage, EFM, IV therapy, central line maintenance.
• Labor and delivery management including C-sections and sterile exams.
• Newborn care including discharge teaching and identification.
• Postpartum care including lactation support and PPH management.
• Pain management including epidural, opioids, PCA.
• Must reside at least 75 miles away; local candidates not accepted.
• Blocked scheduling not allowed.
• Up to 7 days of RTO with upfront submission.
• Must work major or minor holidays.
• Traveler pairs accepted limited; first-time travelers not considered.

• Postpartum care including lactation support, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and management of postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Pain management experience including epidural anesthesia, opioids, and PCA use
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered, must be submitted upfront with no changes accepted
• Required to work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
• Travelers who have worked within the system previously must take a minimum 6-month break before returning
• Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
