Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with 2+ years of Level I acute L&D, Postpartum and Nursery experience for a night shift assignment in Kentucky. Licensure must be KY or compact.

BLS/ACLS/NRP and AWHONN fetal monitoring certification are required, with multiple unit responsibilities across L&D, postpartum and nursery. The role includes rotating night shifts (3x12 or 4x12, 19:00-07:30), travel housing allowances, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Active KY or compact RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years current L&D experience in Level I acute setting.
• Experience in L&D, Postpartum and Nursery required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
• Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification required.
• Competent in postpartum care and newborn assessment.
• Experience with epidural anesthesia, PCA, and insulin drip administration.

Responsibilities

• Rotate across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum and Nursery units.
• Care for a high-volume facility with 100-200 births per month.
• Provide comprehensive care in a low-risk LDRP setting.
• Night shift schedule 19:00-07:30 on 3x12 or 4x12 rotations.
• Use Meditech EMR and float within scope of practice.
• Work every other weekend; travel assignment constraints apply.
• Must reside at least 75 miles away from the facility.
• Flu vaccination required with exemptions considered case by case.

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with 2+ years of Level I acute L&D, Postpartum and Nursery experience for a night shift assignment requiring KY or compact licensure.

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license in hand required
• Minimum 2 years current L&D experience in a Level I acute setting
• Experience in L&D, Postpartum and Nursery required
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification required
• Skilled in postpartum care, fundus/lochia/perineum assessment, Foley catheter management, and lactation support
• Experience with vaginal delivery, C-section circulation and recovery, and sterile vaginal exams
• Competency in newborn assessment, phototherapy, thermoregulation, and hypoglycemia management
• Experience with epidural anesthesia, PCA, and insulin drip administration
• Driver's license required, with address matching permanent residence
• Two professional references required (one Charge or higher, one Supervisor), both completed within the last year

Responsibilities

• Rotating coverage across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum and Nursery units
• Community-level facility with 100-200 births per month
• Low risk LDRP setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 and 4x12 rotating, 19:00-7:30)
• Meditech EMR used
• Floating required within scope of practice
• Every other weekend required
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Provide comprehensive care across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum and Nursery units
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
• Flu vaccine required, with medical and religious exemptions considered case by case
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered if submitted upfront; no changes accepted once approved
• Must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
• Travelers who have worked one year with the system must take a minimum 6-month break before returning
• Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
• First-time travelers may be considered
